PIVX's position
PIVX claimed extensive portions of its 2018 whitepaper were copied, stating that at least 20 pages showed copied material, and highlighted a technical inconsistency involving Sapling/zk-SNARK references mixed with older Zerocoin specifications.
GHOST / McAfee's position
McAfee and the GHOST team responded publicly to the allegations. The specifics of the response are documented from contemporary sources.
What the documents show
Side-by-side comparison of the two documents is the basis of the dispute; the archive presents the comparison rather than ruling on it.
What changed afterward
Later GHOST documentation changed considerably, moving to a Particl-derived architecture — a change the archive documents without attributing it solely to the controversy.
